Project Overview
GameNova is a feature-complete online gaming portal where users can instantly play free HTML5 games in their browser — no download, no login required. The project was built from scratch using core PHP, MySQL, and Vanilla JS, without relying on any frontend or backend framework.
The homepage features a dynamic hero section, category filter chips that re-render Featured, Most Played, and New Arrivals sections in real time using client-side JSON data, and a masonry-style All Games grid that remains unfiltered. A live search bar with suggestions, dedicated category pages, a full analytics dashboard, and clean SEO-friendly URLs via .htaccess rewriting complete the feature set.
The UI follows a dark neon gaming aesthetic built entirely with custom CSS — fluid on all screen sizes from mobile to 4K, with no Bootstrap or Tailwind dependency.
